The space
The Desert Lily is a rustic high-desert retreat set on five peaceful acres in north Joshua Tree. With panoramic views and laid-back desert energy, it’s a well-loved home that invites guests to slow down and unwind.
Room 3 has its own entrance from the covered patio, a private bathroom, and a queen bed with cozy linens. It’s simple, comfortable, and full of natural light.
Guests also have shared use of the kitchen, dining area, great room with fireplace, outdoor patios, firepit, and pool. Lounge in a hammock, watch the sunset glow over the mountains, or enjoy stargazing under the clear desert sky.

Guests have private access to Room 3 and its attached bathroom. Shared spaces include the kitchen, dining area, living room, patio, pool, and firepit areas.
Free parking and EV charging are available on-site.
During your stay
It's self check-in but we are available if needed during your stay.
Other things to note
Pool and spa heating is available for an additional fee, as propane is very costly in the desert. Please inquire before booking if you’d like the pool or spa heated. The spa heating is $75 for 4 hours. Pool heating is $250 per day. This covers the actual cost of the fuel needed to heat it.
Note: Heating cannot be guaranteed, and we’re unable to offer discounts if the heater isn’t working during your stay.

Wildlife
You may spot rabbits, roadrunners, lizards, coyotes and other desert creature. The desert is peaceful but alive with nature. Keep doors closed and food sealed, and enjoy the quiet beauty of this high-desert landscape.

- Pool heatingThe hot tub is heated year round and included. The pool is unheated by default — heating is $250 a day, which covers the propane. Ask before booking.
- No laundry on siteThere is no washer or dryer at the property. The nearest laundromat is about ten minutes away in town.
- A rustic buildingHandcrafted adobe and bottle walls, lived-in and full of character. It is not a sleek modern build, and it is not trying to be.
- WildlifeRabbits, roadrunners, lizards and coyotes. Keep doors closed and food sealed.
- House rulesQuiet hours 9pm to 8am. No parties or events. Smoking outdoors only. Pets are welcome only on whole-compound bookings.
- Getting hereA car is essential. Palm Springs airport is about 50 minutes.
