Go to the traffic signal on the west end of town - on the right you'll see Sam's Market (they have a very nice selection of wine, craft beer, and soft-serve!) You'll just have to trust me on this, the food is first-rate. Don't forget the garlic naan. Can't decide between Indian food and pizza? Get an Indian pizza.

PAPPY & HARRIET'S PIONEERTOWN PALACE

Pappy and Harriets offer some of the best BBQ ribs and steaks; for nonmeat lovers, the vegetarian chilly always hits the spot. Pair any of those items with the Nikki Lane cocktail and you're in for a treat. Because Pappy’s is a world-famous music venue and restaurant it often has a long waitlist, for those of you in a rush try the delicious tacos at Red Dog Saloon.

This is a must-see here in the desert. The outdoor interactive sculptures have been featured in multiple museums and are extremely photo-friendly. Noah Purifoy is also the co-founder of the Watts Towers in LA and is an inspirational African American artist and educator.
